The lab focuses on the immunobiology of dendritic cells with an emphasis on characterizing a newly identified dendritic cell population (interferon-producing killer dendritic cells – IKDC) and their roles in antiviral and antitumor immunity. Other studies include embryonic stem cells derived dendritic cells, humanized mouse models, etc. These projects involve substantial interactions with the Institute of Pediatric Regenerative Medicine and the Stem Cell Program of UCDMC.
