General Information: This will be the most important event worldwide in horticultural science commencing the second decade of the 21st Century. The theme of the 28th IHC is " Science and Horticulture for People ". This accentuates horticulture's scientific component and interactions with scientists, producers, consumers and society. There is huge diversity within Horticulture. The Congress will exult in this diversity through the consideration of crop and commodity groupings such as fruits, vegetables, grapes, aromatic and medicinal plants, ornamental plants, hobby & heritage gardening, landscaping and turf science. The Congress will also emphasise underpinning unities in the Horticultural science base and resultant products providing food, beauty, health and the environment, which create human health and well fare. One of the principal thrusts of IHC 2010 will be to identify cross disciplinary strategic research and social impacts for the improvement of human quality of life and sustainable environments. The 28th IHC will highlight the continuous scientific and technical innovation used in horticulture and will contain the most advanced science drawn from world wide sources.
